Correct Care Recovery Solutions (CCRS) has partnered with the Massachusetts Department of Corrections to comprehensively manage and provide medical and mental health care, forensic mental health evaluation and treatment, substance abuse treatment and dental services to patients at Bridgewater State Hospital. CCRS is seeking qualified professionals to be part of this innovative program that will deliver care in accordance with a person-centered, trauma-informed recovery/resiliency philosophy. CCRS’ overall goal is to improve patients’ levels of functioning and wellness for a successful recovery and discharge from the hospital. The Person-served Advocate will serve as a liaison between the facility, persons served, their families, and the judicial system to advocate the needs of persons with behavioral health disorders admitted to Bridgewater State Hospital services. In addition, this position represents the facility at community functions and serves as liaison for various hospital, advisory committees, and the court system.
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, criminal justice, or a related field.
With Bachelor Degree: 3 years of experience in behavioral health settings or related experiences.
Without Bachelor Degree: 3 to 5 years of experience in health care settings with two to three years in mental health inpatient settings (experience with forensic services preferred), and current/planned enrollment toward a bachelor’s degree in a healthcare field considered in lieu of Bachelor's Degree.

Serves as liaison between the hospital, persons served, their families, the community and the judicial system to advocate for the needs of individuals with behavioral health disorders
Meets with newly admitted person served to review patient rights and responsibilities.
Discusses De-escalation Preferences with persons served at the time of the admission.
Chairs the Person served Governance Meeting and other committees as assigned.
Responds to requests and concerns raised by family members and community stakeholders regarding the maintenance of rights and treatment issues of individuals at BSH.
Reviews concerns that are raised by persons served and develops recommendations to unit directors, nurse managers and administration.
Trains new employees in orientation about patient rights, including confidentiality.
Must be able to apply principles of critical thinking to a variety of practical and emergent situations and accurately follow standardized procedures that may call for deviations.
Must be able to apply sound judgment beyond a specific set of instructions and apply knowledge to different factual situations.
Must be alert at all times; pay close attention to details.
Must be able to work under stress on a regular or continuous basis.
Perform other duties as assigned.
