Correct Care Solutions Dietitian in Florida City, Florida

Overview

Our Dietician oversees the dietary program and menu planning, documents patient nutritional information, represents the department in clinical care committee, and assists the management as necessary to ensure that the patient nutritional needs are met.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree with a major course of study in human nutrition, food and nutrition, dietetics, or food management.

Experience:

  • Above average interpersonal skills

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels within the facility, in addition to a variety of outside customers with varying interests

  • Good writing skills

  • Must be able to thoroughly and effectively document all work performed in the position

  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Licensed as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) or Registered Dietitian (RD) as required in the state of Florida.

Responsibilities

  1. Assess the nutitional status needs of a patient.

  2. Provides nutritional counseling to patients and their families, if necessary.

  3. Prepares all patients' diet cards.

  4. Inputs all dietary and nutritional information. Maintains all records of patient's nutritional history.

  5. Approves and helps design cycle menus.

  6. Demonstrate sensitivity to cultural diversity issues, treats patients as individuals, and considers the culture of the patients when providing care and treatment.

  7. Demonstrate knowledge about care and treatment needs of patients of different ages. Provides individualized care and treatment that is consistent with/sensitive to the age and life span developmental needs of each patient.

  8. Helps facility to maintain annual policy updates and helps to write new policies as needed.

  9. Performs quarterly sanitation audits of all serving areas.

  10. Attends committee meetings and any exit interviews or audits that may be in progress.

  11. Participates in Clinical Care Committee regarding patients' nutritional issues.

  12. Assists in dietary staff in-services.

  13. Must be able to apply principles of critical thinking to a variety of practical and emergent situations and accurately follow standardized procedures that may call for deviations.

  14. Must be able to apply sound judgment beyond a specific set of instructions and apply knowledge to different factual situations.

  15. Must be alert at all times; pay close attention to details.

  16. Must be able to work under stress on a regular or continuous basis.

  17. Perform other duties as assigned.
