Correct Care Solutions Director of Insurance in Nashville, Tennessee


Our Insurance Director is responsible for management and administration of the Company’s insurance programs, consisting principally of professional and general liability insurance, workers’ compensation insurance, property, casualty and auto coverages, employment practices, errors and omissions coverage and directors’ and officers’ liability insurance.



  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree; advanced degree preferred.


  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience as an insurance professional; strong technology skills in such applications as Word, Excel, and databases.


  • Certified Risk Management Professional preferred but not required

  • Licensed attorney with experience practicing law in law firm or in-house legal department preferred but not required


  1. Serves as the Company’s primary point of contact with its insurance brokers, underwriters and third party claims adjusters.

  2. Has primary responsibility for assuring that the Company maintains all legally or contractually required insurance policies and coverages.

  3. Protects the Company’s rights and interests, including through filing and management of claims (other than professional liability claims), applying a thorough understanding of the Company’s rights and obligations under its insurance contracts, and managing insurance policy/program renewals.

  4. Advise senior management on insurance coverages and risks; develop recommendations as to the insurance to be carried, policy terms (including self-insured retentions and deductibles) and premium levels.

  5. Develop and maintain the Company’s written policies and procedures relating to insurance coverages and insurable risks.

  6. Review insurance and risk aspects of RFPs and make recommendations regarding Company proposals; assure that the Company is in compliance with its obligations under client contracts with respect to insurance coverages; assure timely production of certificate of insurance as needed by the business.

  7. Supervise the investigation and assessment of events that have the potential to lead to material loss or liability on the part of the Company (excluding professional liability).

  8. Supervise support staff.

  9. Apply an industry-leading knowledge of effective risk management practices to identify and evaluate liability risks and formulate recommendations to senior management for reducing or containing risks, including by use of industry-wide and Company-specific data and loss experiences.

  10. Develop reporting formats and provide accurate and up to date periodic reports as requested by the Chief Legal Officer.

  11. Prepare presentations for internal committee meetings and meetings with third party advisors, as necessary.

  12. Must be able to apply principles of critical thinking to a variety of practical and emergent situations and accurately follow standardized procedures that may call for deviations.

  13. Must be able to apply sound judgment beyond a specific set of instructions and apply knowledge to different factual situations.

  14. Must be alert at all times; pay close attention to details.

  15. Must be able to work under stress on a regular or continuous basis.

  16. Perform other duties as assigned.
