Correct Care Solutions Program Mental Health Director, Biweekly, MADOC in Westborough, Massachusetts
Our Program Mental Health Director is responsible for the provision of mental health services and supervision of Psychiatric Medical Directors.
- Doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology from an accredited college or university.
- At least five years of progressively responsible management experience providing behavioral health services of similar scope and complexity. Experience in correctional behavioral health care is preferred.
- Designated Qualified Mental Health Professional in accordance with Massachusetts 104 CMR 33.
Recruit, select, train and supervise the Psychiatric Medical Director, psychiatry staff, clinical nurse specialists, psychologists and Qualified Mental Health Professionals utilized throughout the Massachusetts prison system according to the requirements of the Contract;
Attend all contractually required meetings and all meetings requested by the ADC;
Participate in system-wide Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives required by the Contract or otherwise requested by the ADC;
Participate in case conferences for special needs Inmates regarding management within a Facility, transition from prison to a psychiatric hospital and vice versa as well as release planning;
Serve on the Central Office Segregation Review Committee and the STU Review Committee;
In conjunction with the Psychiatric Medical Director, provide administrative supervision and direction to psychiatrists and clinical nurse specialists regarding documentation requirements, clinical pathways and treatment planning;
Ensure that all Qualified Mental Health professionals receive regular adequate and timely clinical supervision in accordance with professional standards;
In conjunction with the Director of Sex Offender Program Services, provide administrative supervision and direction to Qualified Examiners and Community Access Board members, documentation requirements, and treatment planning;
Serve as a member of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee;
Manage all aspects of mental health Services and its continuum from outpatient programs, to day treatment, residential treatment units, behavioral management units, forensic evaluation and civil commitment;
Ensure that appropriate planning and communication occur prior and subsequent to all transfers;
Resolve differences of clinical opinions with respect to diagnosis, medication management and treatment;
Recommend changes or modifications to the existing mental health Program consistent with recognized standards of mental health care in a correctional environment and consistent with physical and other resource limitations of the Department.
Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance.
Must be able to apply principles of critical thinking to a variety of practical and emergent situations and accurately follow standardized procedures that may call for deviations.
Must be able to apply sound judgment beyond a specific set of instructions and apply knowledge to different factual situations.
Must be alert at all times; pay close attention to details.
Must be able to work under stress on a regular or continuous basis.
Post orders, if applicable, per site contract.
Perform other duties as assigned.
